An organization that fails is one that does not seek to
improve: Human body is the wonderful work of the Creator. By itself, it will grow in terms of its shape, size and weight. The body system removes anything that is useless and harmful to the body, as these things are also fighting and consuming the nutrition from the body. Like the human body, an organization will grow in size and shape. In the process of growing and gaining its competitive edge, any useless and harmful functions, which are consuming the resources from the organization, are identified and removed. If the organization that does not that seeks to improve its function does not grow and if it does not grow, it will not survive. Man is resistance to changes. The resistance is due to the threat when facing the complexity and uncertainty in the organization function. On one hand, the organization needs to improve and change in order to survive and be more competitive in this dynamic business environment. On the other hand, the high risk involved in the change stop people from changing. Simulation is the
solution to the dilemma: Using simulation software, the organization is able to visualize the changes and improvement in virtual reality. The analyst models the existing business function or proposed improved function using the software. By putting the right characteristics and operation logic of the individual function and establishing the inter-relationships of the different function into the model, the software will simulate the state of the system or the proposed system. With the analyzed result, the organization is able to find out the improvement areas in the existing system and the feasibility of the proposed system. The decision made based on the virtual experiment, could therefore reduce the risk involved and have a better understanding of the uncertainty. |
